HADDON HALL BAPTIST CHURCH
PSALM 23 POCKET GARDEN

Welcome to our page all about the little garden you are sitting in.

The garden is based around the famous Psalm from the Bible, Psalm 23 (The Lord is my Shepherd), see below, and the mosaic depicts ideas and verses from the Psalm.

Please take some time to relax by the side of what is a very busy road and know that no matter what place you find yourself in there is a good shepherd who will be with you wherever you go and whatever you are going through.  You may feel you are walking beside still waters or in the darkest valley but there is a God who will always be with you.  Stay awhile and let the plants and the space give you a moment to stop and reflect.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

See below for photos and videos of our Haddon community sharing what Psalm 23 means to them and why.

The Psalm 23 Garden was the vision of Haddon Hall Baptist Church to transform a graffiti and rubbish strewn area by the side of the church, into a pocket-sized green space where people can find a moment or two to rest and relax beside something beautiful. We chose the famous Psalm 23, The Lord is my Shepherd, as the inspiration for the  garden.

If anyone is interested in helping to care for the garden please contact:
